The Fortnite Game has risen in popularity ever since Epic Games has launched the Battle Royale Mode. Even though the statistics show slight drops and increases. Fortnite seems to continue with a dedicated fan base who are willing to put in the time and effort to level up their character, unlock new items and continue to spend hours of their life to Earn v-bucks. Therefore, the question that keeps most parents busy now a day, is whether the game can turn their children into an addicted mental. Whose only purpose in live is to play Fortnite and nothing else. Obviously, like many other games it is possible that over time you build an addiction towards playing Fortnite. In fact, you can become addicted to everything you love to do in live.
Is Fortnite really an addictive game?
While the news is being flooded with parents complaining about their children being addicted to Fortnite. We notice that people have the tendency to exaggerate and file petitions to call for a complete ban of Fortnite. Obviously, this won’t happen any time soon so you don’t have to worry about that if you are a huge fan of the game. However, the complaints that have appeared aren’t without a reason. Because Fortnite is an addictive game, you just have to know how to deal with it. Just like you need to learn to deal with other daily practices in life. It is part of growing up right? You shouldn’t withhold your children or yourself from making mistakes. Most life lessons are learned by making mistakes and recovering from it.
The jokes about Fortnite addiction are present
When Ladbible is starting to make jokes about something. You know it is already a hot topic. They wrote a part about a Fortnite player who stabbed his friend 63 times just for making them lose in the game. When they asked them whether he regret his deeds. The made up person responded that he deserved it. Afterall, it was his reason he lost a battle in Fortnite Battle Royale.
The reality of Fortnite addiction
But enough about the silly jokes of Ladbible. Recently, a mother called Britta Hodge living in Australia addressed her concerns to the news channels in Sydney. She is desperate about the behavior of her addicted son called Logan. Now, guess what the addiction is about? Yes, Fortnite! When she tried to stop the addiction by taking away his console and the game. The sun headbutted his mother in a desperate attempt to stop her from taking it away. Logan is only 14 years old and only leaves the house once a week. Because he spends the rest of his time playing Fortnite. In order to the stop the aggression of Logan Britta was forced to call the police to temper his anger. It is important to realize that Logan was diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety disorder, before his addiction to the game.
Seperate the truth from the nonsense
While the world is filling itself with bogus and fake news it is important to separate what is the truth and what isn’t. In this case, we can conclude that Fortnite is an addictive game. However, addiction isn’t something new to the world and we just need to learn to coop with it. Like I mentioned before, we can all start to file petitions on change.org like people already did. To make sure that nobody is allowed to play this awesome game anymore. However, I would recommend people to see the game as a fun way to spend their time, instead of a life goal on itself. If you do have the feeling that you or your children have an uncontrolled addiction to Fortnite. There are a lot of guides available on the internet that will help you to coop with it! So don’t stop playing the game, don’t force people to quit. Instead work together, discuss the issue and find a consensus on the matter!
